A few months ago I told Dave that I would mention a few food blogs that I do enjoy and here it is a few months later and before it becomes a few months later I have my list ready to go. Two of my favorites are www.latartinegourmande.com and www.petitchef.com. Petit Chef covers numerous cuisines and appears in your mailbox daily.
Bea Petre is the writer of La Tartine Gourmande, an expat living in Boston. She writes about food for the Boston Globe. Her food photography will get your taste buds flowing.
When you get a free moment check them both out.

    "Wine tasting and cassoulet dinner

Imagine sitting down at a table with six wine glasses arrayed in an arc before you. That was the situation when my husband Joe and I attended the cassoulet dinner and wine and cheese tasting at Maumee Wines. It was our job to identify first six white wines, then six red wines. We had to guess the grape and which three of six were French. We sat with Jerry and Karen and had a blast. The other three were better able to identify wines by grape or country, but everyone was having a good time. The cassoulet and the cheeses were delicious. We especially enjoyed the triple cream cheese. The conversation was also very entertaining. Before we sat down, we enjoyed a lively conversation with Sylvia in French. I knew Jerry from the advanced French class and Karen is in the beginner class. By the end, everyone seemed relaxed and friendly. We are looking forward to the Christmas dinner!      (Carolyn and Joe Kawecka)"

The tastefully decorated dining room at the Carranor Club had the huge fireplace as a centerpiece. Good food, good company and a warm fire made going out in the wintery blast well worthwhile. Congratulations to Dwight Osterud, Judy Reitzel and Tom Reed who organized the affair. Bravo!

Brigitte Odendahl and her big group of kids entertained a roomful of parents and friends Sunday, December 6, 2009. Bruce Hammond and Cherie Williams made more music while kids and adults raided the food tables. (Several ladies brought goodies based on recipes in the new AFT Cookbook.)

This French film, starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie), tells the story of the life of Gabrielle Chanel leading up to her success as a fashion designer.  It is in French with English subtitles and is very nicely done, no car crashes or shootings!  It is at the Showcase Levis Commons Theatre and will not likely be there much longer.  Get there if you have a chance.  The Blade has a review at http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20091106/ART09/911069982
